Choir Welfare Assistant

Chelmsford Cathedral is currently looking to recruit a Choir Welfare Assistant to join our music department.

The Choir Welfare Assistant plays a vital role in the smooth and safe running of the music department, working closely with the Director of Music and Assistant Director of Music to ensure that all choristers are safe, supported and cared for, and are able to flourish and reach their full potential. Strong, positive communication with parents is central to this role.

Primary responsibility for the welfare of choristers under 18, including choral scholars under 18, sits with the Precentor, the Director of Music and the Choir Welfare Assistant. The postholder will also work closely with the Cathedral Safeguarding Lead, whose guidance and support are an essential part of this role.

Events & Visitor Engagement Coordinator

As we continue to grow our programme of events and strengthen our engagement with visitors and the wider community, we are looking to appoint an Events and Visitor Engagement Coordinator to join our team. The Events & Visitor Engagment Coordinator who will correlate the planning and delivery of events, support visitor engagement activities to generate income, and help develop opportunities that increase participation, accessibility, and community involvement. The postholder will work closely with the Head of Events, Volunteers & Visitor Engagement, Cathedral staff, ministry team, volunteers, partners, and external organisations to ensure high-quality experiences for all who visit the Cathedral.

There are around 250 volunteers here at Chelmsford Cathedral covering a great many roles which allows the Cathedral to open seven days a week, be a home to many community groups and continue to offer free entry to visitors.
