Giving and Generosity
Your generosity, in whatever form it takes, is vital to the life of this Cathedral.
Your generosity, in whatever form it takes, is vital to the life of this Cathedral.
Giving is not simply something we do; it is a way of living that opens us more fully to God's gifts.
As we look around, we are reminded that we are here because of the enduring goodness of God and the generosity of those who have gone before us. People who gave, served, and prayed so that the life and mission of this Cathedral might flourish. Their commitment is woven into the very fabric of this place, and we are now invited to carry that inheritance forward in our own time.
In Luke's Gospel, Jesus calls us to live generously: "Give, and it will be given to you."
Giving is not simply something we do; it is a way of living that opens us more fully to God's gifts.
Your generosity, in whatever form it takes, is vital to the life of this Cathedral. It sustains our worship, supports our outreach, and enables us to offer care, teaching, and welcome to all who come here. Whether through financial giving, volunteering your time, or sharing your skills, every gift helps make possible the mission we are called to together.
As you read this leaflet, I invite you to prayerfully consider how you might play your part. In giving and serving, we not only support the work of the Cathedral; we also find our own hearts opened and refreshed, drawn more deeply into God's loving purpose for us all.
May the Lord bless you richly.
The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) is the simple, secure way to give to Chelmsford Cathedral. Used by thousands of churches across the Church of England, it's designed by the Church, for the Church, and every penny you give comes directly to us.
Every year, more than 200,000 people pass through the doors of Chelmsford Cathedral. Your giving helps us welcome every one of them, sustain daily worship, support our community outreach, and care for this remarkable building for generations to come. No gift is too small, and every contribution truly matters.
It really couldn't be easier. You stay in control at all times, choosing how much you give and how often. You can pause, increase or reduce your gift whenever your circumstances change, and PGS will never alter your giving without your permission. You can even opt in to a small annual increase to keep pace with inflation.
If you're a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid is handled for you automatically, boosting your gift by 25% at no extra cost to you.
You can start giving in just a few minutes:
You don't need an account to make a one-off gift. Simply visit the PGS website, and you'll be guided through securely in a few short steps. Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are all welcome.
Full details about PGS are available at parishgiving.org.uk
If you have any questions in the meantime, please do speak to one of our Wardens.
Thank you so much for your generosity. It makes a real difference.
